Mini Conference Call for Proposals

Submit your proposal for the 2017 GCDA Mini-Conference! We are looking for presentations and workshops that fit in line with our theme: "Linking Technology to Career Development."

The 2017 GCDA Mini Conference will take place on Friday, March 10 at Oglethorpe University in Atlanta.



Keynote Speaker Feature: Deb Osborn, PhD and Melissa Venable, PhD

Our keynote speakers will be the "Technology Twins" -- Deb Osborn, PhD and Melissa Venable, PhD. They will be delivering an inspiring -- and entertaining -- message on how to capitalize on technology to help you in your practice and ultimately serve your clients best! Deb S. Osborn, PhD

Deb works full time as an associate professor in the Educational and Psychology Learning Systems department at Florida State University. There, she coordinates the master’s Career Counseling program. She has over 20 years as a counselor educator. Her research and teaching interests include exploring how technology can enhance and extend counseling service delivery, innovative approaches to teaching counseling, career assessments, and the application of Cognitive Information Processing theory to career service delivery. Melissa A. Venable, PhD

Melissa works as a full-time writer and advisor for the Center for Online Education, OnlineColleges.net. Her professional background in career advising, instructional design, and social media management informs her work on topics related to higher education and career development. She serves on eLearn Magazine’s Editorial Board, leading the Higher Education column, and is an adjunct instructor at the University of South Florida and Saint Leo University.
