Career Development and Professional Development

Greetings,

We hope your 2016 is off to a great start! As the weather begins to warm up (hopefully), we want you to know that opportunities for professional development through the GCDA are quickly approaching. We also want to remind you to update your member profile on the GCDA website if you haven't already done so. The GCDA Board is looking forward to connecting with you in the coming weeks!

Programming Updates and Survey

Two professional development opportunities coming your way in the next couple of months: our Spring PDI (February 26) and Mini Conference (April 22). Registration is open for the Spring PDI here!

Our Spring Mini-Conference will be a full day professional development event with speakers such as Daniel Seddiqui (Keynote Speaker -- 50 Jobs in 50 states), Charlotte Hayes & David Harris (Managing and marketing a successful private practice), Lanie Damon (Highlands Ability Battery and how to put it to use with clients), and more! Please refer to the events section in this email for more information. A formal announcement with registration, travel, and a full list of speakers and topics will be coming soon.

Reminder: if you haven't already done so, please complete our brief programming survey. This will enable us to create, market, and facilitate professional development events you will find valuable. You can complete the survey here.

Reminder: Member Bio Update

Attention Private Practice and Departmental Career Developers

FIND-A-PROFESSIONAL

GCDA now offers members a dynamically updated web listing for the GCDA site. This is a new feature especially helpful for PRIVATE PRACTICE coaches, counselors, and career development professionals: Find-a-Professional.

How it works: Different members are featured randomly at the top of the page. The listing is non-alphabetic and random so that individuals are everyone receives equal exposure. The page also has a SEARCH bar to help clients and members quickly locate one another.

To participate in the feature, please follow these instructions:

1) Log on to our website: theGCDA.org.

2) Select VIEW PROFILE (top right, next to login)

3) Select EDIT PROFILE

4) Complete the new sections labelled PUBLIC ADDRESS.

Your BIO, Public Address, and phone number will be accessible through this feature. If you prefer to remain anonymous, simply leave these fields blank. We still need your billing info as always, but that NOT appear in the public directory.

Your public member bio will look something like this:

If you have any questions, comments or concerns about utilizing this feature of our website please email us.
